I would have to say that A Walk To Remember is one of my favorite books. I like the book because it can make you happy and sad at the same time. I want to say I felt that I was in Landon's position at some times because the way Nicholas Sparks describes some of the events it makes you feel that you are in his position. Then during some of the parts I had to like smile at. Like when Landon got Jamie a new sweater for Christmas. Then there was the way he described Jamie during the Christmas play, she was the angel, and he said she really looked like one.

Conflict
One big conflict in the story is the event towards the end of the book. Jamie tells Landon she has cancer. Landon basically flips out and tells her she'll be cured, but the truth is she won't be. So he goes and begs his parents to help her, but they tell him they can't do anything. While the months pass, Landon finds him self falling more and more in love with Jamie. He then decides to ask her to marry him. She approves. Then all of Landon's friends really don't know what to say. They know he loves her, but they don't know if they should really be getting married at a young age. Even if Jamie does have cancer.
Setting
The setting of A Walk To Remember is taken place in Beaufort, North Carolina. The town is divided into two areas. There's the poor side of town. The other side of town is the wealther side of town. There is a lake that seperates some of the homes and a church that seperates the poor side of town from the richer side of town. All of the teen agers in town go to the same school, which isn't really that many people. The story mostly takes place when Landon is walking Jamie home or at school. Until the middle of the book, it starts to talk about the play.
Favorite Quotes
In this book I came across one quote that I love. This quote is out of a poem, but in the book they don't say what poem the quote is from.
"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes."

Character List
Landon Carter-
Landon is defined as the bad boy of Beaufort, North Carolina. Everyone seems to know it, especially the Baptist minister. The things that consider him bad is going out late at night to the cemetery and eating peanuts with his buddies. Landon's family is very rich, they live on the other side of the lake in an average side house. His father is a senator and spends most of the year in Washington D.C.
Jamie Sullivan-
Jamie is the daughter of the Baptist minister. She gets made fun of a lot and wears the same brown sweater all the time. Jamie is the type of girl who loves to help people as much as she can. Like when she tries to collect money for the children at the orphanage during the year for their Christmas presents.
